Nature is the source of our inspiration and it gives us the ingredients for our fragrance creations. Therefore, closeness to nature, sustainability and respectful use of natural resources are the essence of our brand.

When creating fragrances, we work with both natural and classic synthetic perfume raw materials. Some fragrances in our collection are also created 100% with natural raw materials.

Decisive for our choice of raw materials are the highest quality standards, sustainable production and unhesitating use. Because naturalness, even if it does not necessarily correspond to our intuition, is not always synonymous with sustainability or compatibility.

All-natural fragrances are marked in our online shop with the «natural» logo.

For us, ensuring the compatibility of our products means taking responsibility towards our customers.

That is why we work together with the International Fragrance Association (IFRA) on a voluntary basis. This independent organisation defines strict standards for the safe and unhesitating use of fragrances, regulating use and application, concentration and labelling. The scientific findings are evaluated by an expert panel including dermatologists, toxicologists and environmental researchers.

All KUKUI formulations comply 100% with the current IFRA rules and regulations. In this way, we ensure that all our products are completely compatible.

The ingredients of almost all KUKUI fragrances are 100% vegan.

However, there is one factor due to which we have to make an exception: For a few fragrances we use a natural resin. With this resin it cannot be excluded that it contains traces of beetles or other insects. These traces are usually the laid eggs of the insects. This is the reason why this raw material is classified as non-vegan.

Completely vegan fragrances are marked with the logo «vegan» in our webshop.

Protecting animals and maintaining their well-being is a natural aspect of being close to nature for us.

Because of this conviction, we refrain from any kind of animal testing in the manufacture of KUKUI products.

When it comes to the ingredients of KUKUI products, we focus on absolute clarity. All Kukui fragrances are registered in the product directory of the Federal Office of Public Health (BAG) and qualified according to their intended use.

The labelling of the products complies with European regulations and instructions for proper use are affixed to all products. A safety data sheet is available for each fragrance formulation, providing information on possible risks and the correct handling of the fragrances. We also play it safe when it comes to technology: KUKUI fragrance devices comply with the relevant standards for the use of electrical devices.

Sustainability is not just part of our philosophy, it is a theme that we implement in many concrete measures and processes. For example, we do not use any dyes in our fragrances, many product containers are refillable and reusable and our PET bottles are made from 100% recycled material. We do not use cellophane on our outer packaging. We recycle all our containers ourselves.

But sustainability is not limited to our products and packaging: In our factory and showroom, we use 100% energy from sustainable sources, and by manufacturing our products locally, we avoid long transport routes.

For us, sustainability is not a status, but a process: we think about new ways to contribute to a future worth living with KUKUI every day.
